Hi, I have a clients computer whose registry permissions all vanished, I ran the reset program from MS (subinacl) and it worked for the registry entries already there. So i thought yay I wil go and install office like they were trying to b4 they brought it to me. got just past where it was failing b4 and failed again at a registry entry. Checked it out and the newly created entry had empty permissions too. I was able to add permissions and fixed it and a couple more came up. Does anyone know what could cause newly created registry entries to come up empty like that? To see what i mean, run regedit and right click on on of the entrys on the left and click permisssions, under group or user names it is blank. I have already made sure it was clean of malware and viruses.
